King Faisal again recorded a second successive victory of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League when they defeated Elmina Sharks 1-0 in their matchday 7 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
Striker Osman Ibrahim shot King Faisal ahead with a calm finish in the 26th-minute after squandering some decent chances in the early stage of the game.
Elmina Sharks after going down, recognized themselves and started pushing for an equalizer but Enoch Agblenyo looked rusty upfront with all his shots going off the post.
Daniel Nii Adjei made his experience count in the game but Wadudu Yakubu countered his moves in midfield as his passes failed to reach Mitchel Sarpong and Suraj Ibrahim as the first half ended 1-0 in favour of King Faisal.
Back from recess, the hosts started pushing for more goals with having played some exciting football to thrill the few fans who watched the game from the stands.
Mawuli Wayo in the 57th dribbled goalkeeper Bawa Martey to put the ball in the net but his goal was flagged offside but referee Tamimu Sadat.
Elmina Sharks had a fair chance to restore parity but again striker Agblenyo missed a free header in the 63rd minute mark of the game.
Elmina Sharks coach Mallam Yahaya made his first substitution in the game as he replaced Enoch Agblenyo with Charles Obeng with teenager Baba Yahaya coming on for Enoch Morrison for King Faisal.
In the 78th minute, duo Evans Sarfo and David Obeng Afrane were introduced into the match by King Faisal coach Nurudeen Amadu to replace Wadudu Yakubu and Mawuli Wayo.
Elmina Sharks hit the back of the net in the 86th minute through Suraj Ibrahim but his strike was ruled foul after goalkeeper Frank Boateng had collided with Justice Mensah few seconds earlier.
At the end of the full 90 minutes, it was the Insha Allah lads who snatch all three points in the difficult match.
