Ghana coach Charles Akonnor has handed late call-ups to Turkish-based defender Atamah Laweh and Reading FC star Andy Yiadom for this week’s 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Sudan.
He has also invited two home-based defenders- Christopher Nettey of Asante Kotoko and AsantiGold SC’s Kwadwo Amoako.
However, Bechem United teen sensation who was reported to have been invited by the Black Stars coach for the two games wasn’t included in the GFA’s updated list of players named for the qualifiers.
”Due to medical reasons, Coach of the Black Stars C. K Akonnor has made seven additions to his squad ahead of Ghana’s double header against Sudan.” the Ghana FA said on Monday morning.
”The players include Andrew Kyere Yiadom (Reading FC), Majeed Ashimeru (Red Bull Salzburg), Joseph Attamah Larweh (Keyserispor), Afriyie Acquah (Yeni Malatyaspor) and Clifford Aboagye (Tijuana FC).
”The rest are Kwadwo Amoako (AshantiGold SC) and Christopher Nettey (Asante Kotoko SC)
The Black Stars will begin camping in Accra on Monday, November 09, ahead of the game on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
Ghana face Sudan at the Cape Coast stadium on Thursday, November 12, before travelling to Khartoum three days later for the reverse tie.
