Botswana referee Joshua Bondo will handle the 2021 African Cup of Nations Group C match between Ghana and Morocco on Monday January 10, 2022.
The Referees Commission of the African Football Confederation (CAF) has appointed the officials who will officiate the matches of the first round of the group stage of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which is being held in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6. 2022.
For the Black Stars of Ghana game against Atlas Lions on Monday (January 10), Motswana referee Joshua Bondo will have the whistle.
Aged 43, this referee has a wealth of experience and is well known to the Moroccan public as he had led matches for Moroccan clubs in African cups and for the national team in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Joshua Bondo will be assisted by Souru Phatsoane (Lesotho) and James Frederick (Seychelles). Mauritanian Dahan Beida has been appointed as the 4th referee. Tunisian Haythem Guirat will be at VAR with his compatriot Khalil Hassani.
As a reminder, all 52 matches of this 33rd edition of CAN will be covered by video assistance refereeing (VAR), a first in the history of this competition.
