Vincent Atinga, the center-back for Medeama, has been honored with the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League Player of the Season award, recognizing his outstanding performance.
Atinga, a former Hearts of Oak defender, was among the nominees for the award, alongside his teammate Jonathan Sowah, Abednego Tetteh from Bibiani Gold Stars, Hafiz Konkoni from Bechem United (now with Yanga), Sampson Eduku, and Michel Otou.
During the 2022/2023 season, Atinga earned multiple Man of the Match awards in the Ghana Premier League while playing for Medeama which helped the club to clinch the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League title for the first time in the club’s history.
Remarkably, Vincent Atinga scored a total of 11 goals during the season, with an impressive 9 of those coming from penalty kicks. This achievement makes him the highest-scoring defender in the 2022-2023 GPL and the player with the most penalty goals in the same season.
Atinga’s exceptional performance and goal-scoring prowess have rightfully earned him the prestigious Player of the Season award.
