Burnley had a great start to their season, having stunned the defending Premier League champions Chelsea in their own backyard in a dominant performance that saw them winning the contest 3-2.
The Blues tried to claw back into the match with two goals in the second half, but a resilient Burnley side proved too much for them to contain with and they had the worst possible start of their campaign as the reigning champions.
The Clarets are looking to bank on the gallant win and make this season a good one. Despite losing their mainstay in attack Andre Gray in the summer to Premier League rivals Watford, Burnley are depending on their existing squad members and are eyeing a few players to be brought into the side for the new season.
With two more weeks to go for the end of the summer transfer window, the man in charge at Turf Moor, Sean Dyche, is having his eyes on the Ghanaian striker Majeed Waris, who is currently playing for the French side Lorient in the Ligue 2. The 25-year-old player is a spontaneous talent who has been targeted by a number of clubs from all over Europe and Burnley want to close the deal as soon as possible.
The youngster has been nothing less than a livewire on the field for his side Lorient, which he joined in the year 2015. The Ghanaian striker has made 65 appearances so far for his club, netting the ball on 23 occasions throughout the tenure so far.
However, he has been wary of the fact that in the last term, despite his good form, the lack of support from the other players of the team made his efforts not enough to keep his team in the top flight and therefore, he is eyeing a move out of the club in search of top flight football.
Majeed is known for his thunderous strikes from a long range outside the box, which makes it really difficult for the opponent goalkeeper to keep track of the ball travelling in the air. He is also known for his physical presence and can be an ominous threat to the opposition defenders while going into challenges with full force. He is also strong in the air and can score with his head.
Apart from the above-mentioned abilities, the strength of the 25-year-old attacking spearhead lies in his ability to score from set piece situations and with all the qualities, he can be a perfect player for the Clarets.
