Former Ghana international, Frimpong Manso, has voiced his criticism of the current Black Stars playing squad, accusing them of lacking sacrifice and commitment.
The senior national team has faced significant scrutiny following their disappointing performance in the October international friendly matches. Ghana suffered a 2-0 defeat against Mexico and a humiliating 4-0 loss against the US Men’s national team.
With the 2026 World Cup qualifiers approaching in November, Manso, who currently serves as the head coach of Ghana Premier League team Bofoakwa Tano, has criticized the playing body for their perceived lack of commitment.
“These current Black Stars players are not committed and are unwilling to sacrifice for the nation,” he expressed during an interview with Kumasi-based Time FM. “They play like a division two side and can’t even defend against balls,” he added.
The Black Stars are set to face Madagascar and Comoros in the first two matches of the World Cup qualifiers. After these qualifiers, Ghana will shift its focus to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled to be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.
