John Antwi has enough experience in African football as he spent 9 good years in the books of Ismaily, Al Ahly, Pyramids, Misr El-Makasa and Tala’ea El Gaish SC in Egypt.
During his stay in Egypt, he ended up as the foreigner with the highest number of goals.
John Antwi deemed Dreams FC’s offer was enough for him and hence returned to where it all started before joining Sekondi Hasaacas and subsequently moving to Egypt as a youngster.
In an interview with CAF on Cafonline.com, the Ghanaian veteran sounded optimistic ahead of the imminent semi-final clash against Zamalek.
When quizzed about Dreams FC’s aspirations and goals for the remainder of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup campaign, he assured Ghanaians of Dreams’ dream to fight for the ultimate
“Definitely, it will be the ultimate. We are surely going to believe in ourselves and go for the trophy because we know it is possible with hard work and determination,” said the 31-year-old John Antwi Duku
” It means a lot to me, honestly being part of this young team breaking barriers on the continent, which lots of people didn’t expect from us is a great feeling. So I’m very happy with the little I have added to the team which has brought us this far,” added John Antwi when he was asked about
how he would describe his overall experience representing Dreams FC in the CAF Confederation Cup, and what it means personally to him to be part of this journey.
Dreams FC has indeed defied all odds and made it to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Still Believe will face the Egyptian giants Zamalek SC in Cairo Egypt on the 21st of April in the first leg and the return leg will be on the 28th of April.
