Ghana forward Jordan Ayew is determined to secure a positive result for Leicester City when they visit Selhurst Park to face his former team, Crystal Palace.
Ayew, who made the switch to the King Power Stadium during the summer transfer window, will return to South London for the first time since leaving the Eagles in August 2024 after six seasons with the club.
The 33-year-old forward acknowledges the emotional significance of this match, as it will be his first chance to properly bid farewell to the club that was his home for the past six years.
“I’m expecting it to be strange because I spent six years there, and it was like a second home to me. There will be many familiar faces I didn’t get to say goodbye to them properly, so it will definitely be emotional,” Ayew said in an interview with LCFC. “However, once the game begins, my focus is solely on defending my new colours. I’m committed to helping Leicester City secure either three points or at least a draw, and to performing well as a team to keep our fans satisfied.”
Ayew remains optimistic about Leicester City’s chances, emphasizing the importance of getting a result to boost confidence and belief moving forward.
“We need to get something out of this game. It would be huge for our confidence and future prospects. We are going there with humility but are determined to deliver a strong performance and hopefully secure the points.”
