Aduana Stars head coach Yaw Acheampong has vowed to turn around the club’s fortunes following a disappointing start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) campaign.
The “Fire Boys,” two-time champions of the Ghanaian top-flight, have struggled to gain momentum this season. After five matches, they are yet to secure a win, suffering two defeats and drawing three.
Despite the challenging start, Acheampong remains optimistic, pledging to work hard with his young squad to improve results.
“We are working tirelessly to turn things around. We have a young team, and many of the players have never played in the Premier League or under floodlights before. It will take time, but we’ve played five games, and the gap is not too big, so we still have to push,” he stated.
Aduana Stars recently held Hearts of Oak to a goalless draw at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. With just three points, the team currently sits in 16th place on the league table and will need to elevate their performance to stay competitive this season.
Next up, Aduana Stars will host Dreams FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in matchday six of the GPL, where they hope to secure their first victory.
