Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has expressed strong support for the establishment and retention of management committees for the country’s national teams.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Accra-based Hot FM, Nyantakyi highlighted the critical role these committees play in the success of Ghana’s football teams.
“Management committees are crucial for the success of our national teams. They provide logistical, administrative, and technical support that ensures the teams are well-prepared for international competitions,” Nyantakyi explained.
He emphasized that the expertise and leadership of these committees are indispensable in guiding the teams through their preparations. “Their guidance is essential in helping the teams perform at the highest level,” he added, reiterating his belief in their importance.
Nyantakyi’s endorsement comes at a time when the use of management committees has sparked debate, with some critics viewing them as unnecessary bureaucracy. However, his experience as GFA President from 2005 to 2018 and his success in leading the Black Stars to three consecutive FIFA World Cup appearances lend weight to his stance.
“Effective management and leadership are key to achieving success in football. The committees play a pivotal role in providing that,” Nyantakyi noted, backing the Ghana Football Association’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the national teams.
His remarks are expected to add momentum to the argument in favor of retaining the committees as Ghana continues its mission to restore the Black Stars and other national teams to their former glory.
