Watford winger Kwadwo Baah has expressed openness to playing for Ghana’s national team, revealing that he is yet to make a final decision on his international future.
The 22-year-old, who was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and currently features in the English Championship, is eligible to represent England, Germany, or Ghana at senior level. He has previously played for both England and Germany at youth level but remains undecided about which nation to commit to.
Speaking in an interview with watfordfc.com, Baah shared his thoughts:
“I could play for England, Germany or Ghana. Obviously, with the football I’m playing, I hope that I could one day get that recognition.
I haven’t made up my mind which one I’d want to represent! Hopefully, the time will soon come when I have to decide.”
Baah has strong ties to Ghana through his family and early life.
“My dad played in Germany for quite a while and I was born in Stuttgart. I lived there for maybe one or two years, then we went to Ghana for a bit before coming to England, where I’ve been my whole life. I grew up in South Norwood.”
The 2024/25 season has been a breakthrough one for the talented winger. He registered five goals and three assists in 31 appearances for Watford across all competitions, showcasing his pace, directness, and creativity in the final third.
Baah’s form has not gone unnoticed, and his willingness to consider Ghana could provide a timely boost for Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, who continues to scout promising diaspora players ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
