English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly making a move to sign Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Kudus, who joined the Hammers in 2023 from Ajax, has four years left on his contract, which runs until the summer of 2028. However, his impressive debut season in England has made him a prime target for several top European clubs.
According to The Guardian, Spurs are testing West Ham’s resolve with a £50 million offer, though the East London club is said to be holding out for £85 million, which matches the release clause in Kudus’ contract.
The move is intriguing given the rare business dealings between the two London rivals. The last time West Ham and Tottenham successfully completed a transfer was back in 2011, involving David Bentley (loan) and Scott Parker. A potential move for Emmanuel Adebayor collapsed in 2015, and since then, the clubs have avoided direct transfers.
Despite this, Tottenham appear eager to add Kudus to their ranks as they aim to bolster their attacking options under manager Ange Postecoglou.
Kudus’ stock has soared since his switch to the Premier League. The 24-year-old has scored 19 goals and registered 13 assists in 80 appearances for West Ham across all competitions. His dynamic play, versatility, and eye for goal have also attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United, Atletico Madrid, and other top clubs in Europe.
