Henry Asante Twum- head of Communications of Ghana Football Association, says the country’s football governing body is not looking at truncating the 2019/2020 league season.
He says the associating is working hand in hand with governing to take the best decision regarding the resumption of football in the country.
According to him, huge amount of monies have so far been spent on the league before its suspension, adding that the Football Association and corporate bodies have invested almost GHS150,000 being the suspension of the season due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Commenting further on the current situation, Henry Asante disclosed that Startimes- official broadcaster of the Ghana Premier League, have covered over twenty-eight matches with an average of $4000 on production daily. This amount multiplied by twenty- eight match days coverage, will amount to about $200,000 with an addition of NASCO as a partner, which spent a lot on player of the matches and coaches of the month awards.
He was clear decisions can’t be taken without the opinions and consideration of such corporate bodies as, the Football Association would not like to break the rapport between them.

‘’The government is still being engaged and if there is any stage where it seems virtually impossible to continue, clubs will be confronted on the cancellation of the league with reasons,’’ he said.
Asante however, revealed that the Ghana FA executive council had a meeting two months ago to decide on changing situations at hand thus , the purchase of referee communications gadgets to revive their love for the game after the fear instilled by the Anas expose last season.
He implored sports journalists to work together in improving the sports industry whiles awaiting the Exco’s decisions on the way forward of the season on June 30, 2020.
