How do you keep motivating yourself?
‘I keep motivating myself when I look at my kid sister’s picture because she’s the only one my parents left behind.’
Does the Hearts of Oak pressure get to you?
‘As a player, there’s pressure everywhere even from your family and from friends But it’s up to you to be strong and inhale whatever pressure that comes from any angle.’
At Hearts of Oak, there are many big-name players. Are any of them envious of the attention you receive?
‘I don’t think so and even if you envy the success of others, it doesn’t make u grow too well’
What do you spend most of your time doing off the field?
‘I spend most times listening to old music that has a lot of advice and reading the Quran. Sometimes love to give attention to PlayStation games.’
Have you ever looked at a game video and were amazed at the things you did on the pitch?
‘I was really amazed and surprised when I saw myself in the game against Olympics because it was a derby game’
At what age did you notice your skills were good enough to pursue a football career?
‘I was very little when my colts coach took me through my first drill and after told my late father that he believes I will be one of the greatest footballers in future In Sha Allah’
What did you learn from watching Charles Taylor and Don Bortey?
‘Don Bortey amazed me with his technique and amazing touches whiles Charles was too good with his dazzling dribbling skills’
Which Hearts of Oak teammate are your most trusted friend and confidant?
‘All the players are my friends but you will always see me Manaf and Mitchelle’
What other sport(s) do you love to play, and how would you rate your skills?
‘I love to play basketball and table tennis cause I have 7 out of 10 skill in those fields’
If you weren’t a football player, what profession would you have gone into?
‘I had always wanted to be a pilot as I told my dad I will surprise him with it In Sha Allah’
What is your favourite music genre and which artists do you enjoy listening to before a match?
‘I love listening to old music such as highlife because of the advice and the parables in it. My favourite artist is Daddy Lumba.’
What’s the most frustrating game you’ve ever been a part of?
‘The game against Okwawu United which we won but the pitch got me so frustrated due to its bad nature when it rains’
Do you want to coach/manage one day? If so, which team would you choose if both jobs were available: Black Stars or Hearts of Oak?
‘I would love to coach any team available but would love to give back to the club that gave me high hopes and challenge myself so will go for Hearts’
Are there any players that you ask for advice?
‘I ask almost every player for advice before and after every game but there’s one player I seek life advice from’
There’s nothing quite like winning a game is there?
‘There is nothing! After all, it is the three points that are at stake and when you get it, it’s the most joyous moment of life.’
What was the most devastating loss in your career?
‘The loss against Brekum Chelsea during the first game of the 2019/2020 GPL season. I didn’t eat till the next day.’
What was the greatest victory you’ve been a part of in your career?
‘The victory against the regional rivals Great Olympics.’
Which player in the Ghana premier league history would you have loved to play alongside with?
‘I Would always want to play alongside Amankwa Mireku and Chibsah with Odartey Lamptey coaching.’

‘I want to face off against Legon Cities newly signed Striker and Former captain of the Blackstars Asamoah Gyan’

‘I think I have improved a lot every aspect but am improving on my crosses a lot better’
Do you see yourself in any leadership at Hearts in the future?
‘I see myself as the most successful captain of the club in the future’
If you will have a choice to change anything in the rules of football, then what will it be?
‘I will change the caution rules (Yellow and Red card)’
What drives you to get up and go training every day?
‘There’s a dream and that must come true’
What’s the dressing room like if you lose a game?
‘It is usually very very quiet with no noise making just like the cemetery’
How does having Patrick Razak as your winger playing on the right side help your overall gameplay?
It makes me feel better and much more comfortable watching him do the speeding whiles I do the tackling for him because he’s not so good at doing that.
Is there any winger you would never like to play against in the Ghana Premier League?
‘I think there’s none yet. The wingers I have met currently are finding it difficult to contain me because I am a winger myself’
Which attribute of wingers scares you the most?
‘I think that must be speed and flair’
Why do think players sometimes misplace a simple pass?
I don’t know why but I think sometimes it’s lack of concentration and some players also take their problems off the field on the field.
What’s your favourite thing about training under Coach Odoom?
‘Commitment and always want to win and a very good God-fearing man.’
What’s the biggest impact Odoom has had so far on you as a player?
‘Giving me the chance to show the whole of Africa what I have in me.’
Outside of football what else are you passionate about?
‘My father was a plumber and a farmer so sometimes I try to follow his steps.’

‘I prefer PES.’

‘As a kid, I didn’t have a favourite. What you get is what you wear.’

‘I attended Umar Bun Khatab for primary and JHS and attended Mercy Senior High for my secondary school education.’

‘Science was my favourite subject.’

‘I am the funniest and worrisome as well.’

‘I met her from my childhood days.’
Who do your parents do and where do they come from?
‘ My parents are late. My father was a farmer and plumber and my mother was a trader. Dad comes from the Northern Part of the country( Konkonba Chamber)and Mom from the Ashanti region(Asante Akyim Agogo).’
How many languages do you speak?
‘I speak 6 languages – Hausa, Twi, English, Ga, Ewe and Greek.’
