The Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Ibrahim Sani Dara has revealed that his outfit have not opened application for the position of head coach of the Senior National men’s football team, the Black Stars.
Following the departure of Israeli trainer Avram earlier this month, the GFA are yet to announce a substantive coach for the nation’s flagship team.
And speaking to Accra based Hausa radio station Marhaba FM on Saturday, Sani Dara stated that the Executive Committee of the FA will meet next week to decide on the criteria to use in Selecting a new coach.
According to him, a decision on whether to headhunt for a trainer or open applications will only be taken at next week’s meeting.
Sani Dara also confirmed reports that the GFA has received over 60 applications already from prospective coaches but did not mention any names.
However, he revealed that he is yet to see an application letter and CV of a local coach despite media speculations linking several top indigenous Ghanaian coaches to the Vacant position.
There is widespread debate in the local media on whether or not a local trainer should be handed to Black Stars job but Sani insist that his outfit will only look at competence and not colour.
