Swansea boss Steve Cooper insists Ghana skipper Andre Ayew will not be on quarantine after he returns from his country’s AFCON qualifier with Sao Tome and Principe slated for March 28.
Ayew was initially not in the squad for the two games against South Africa and Sao Tome but he will now miss only the away game with the Bafana Bafana as the country has been declared a Coronavirus hot spot and those in UK have been advised not to step there.
The Swansea talisman is available to fly to his homeland for the game with the Islanders and his club coach has declared that he will join the team straight when he returns from Ghana and will not go on two weeks quarantine as his absence will affect them.
“He won’t be missing any Swansea games, that’s for sure,” Cooper told Walesonline
“We’ve had that discussion. The plans are still getting firmed up.
“Everybody’s in agreeance in what may or may not happen, especially Andre.
“That will come to light in the next day or two, but everything’s in control, everything’s calm.” He added.
Ayew will do series of Coronavirus test in Ghana and bring the results to England since he won’t be quarantine.
