Grimsby Town manager Paul Hurst has hinted that Ghanaian striker Omar Bogle declined a deal to join them.
The gangling striker who is out of favor at Doncaster Rovers still remains an icon at Grimsby Town after helping them to secure promotion to League 2 in 2016 but he has rejected a move to sign for then again as they are now in the national league.
“I’ve touched base on that one, and what I can say is it’s not something that the player wants to pursue now,” Hurst told Grimsby Live.
“If, down the line, he ended up joining a National League club, so be it, but we have made the enquiry, and that was the answer I got – it’s not something that the player’s looking to do.
“I would have thought any National League team is going to be interested in such a player, but that’s not on Omar’s radar, so I think we can put that one to bed, until maybe January and then it’ll start up again!” Hurst added.
Bogle is likely to be forced to a non-league club with the transfer window over.
