Basake Holy Stars coach Abdulai Gazale has expressed frustration over his team’s lack of goal-scoring in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
The Premier League newcomers have only managed to score two goals in five matches during the 2024/25 campaign. After a promising start, Holy Stars are now struggling, having suffered three consecutive defeats in the top flight.
Last weekend, the Anyinase-based club narrowly lost to fellow debutants Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.
Coach Gazale is puzzled by his team’s inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities despite focused training on finishing.
“Goalscoring has been a challenge. We’ve created a lot of chances in our games but we are unable to utilize them. I’m now becoming angry because I think we’ve done a lot of work on goal-scoring,” he said.
Holy Stars are currently hovering just above the relegation zone, sitting in 15th place with four points from five matches. They will look to bounce back when they host Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in their matchday six encounter this weekend.
