Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, Accra Lions Football Club has added youngster Uzondu Nwachukwu to their high growing squad ahead of their campaign in Ghana’s top-flight.
The 21-year-old forward becomes the latest player to join the club after several additions already in the last few months, joining from Lagos based Yobo Football Club.
Nwachukwu is expected to add depth to the Lions squad, who have earned promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the 2021/22 season, which commences next month.
Confirming the player’s arrival on their social media pages, a statement read: “Accra Lions Football club has acquired 21-year-old Nigerian Striker Progress Uzondu Nwachukwu from Lagos based Yobo Football Club.”
“We are very pleased to welcome Progress to the ALFC family,” said Accra Lions Sporting Director Rainer Kraft. “His signing is the latest example of our intention to add promising young players to our squad. With his skillset, we believe that Progress will complement our current attacking players very well.”
ALFC’s Head of Scouting Paul Goodrich describes Progress as a brawly central striker who always tries to find the direct way to the goal. “His assertiveness in 1v1 situations in the box is impressive.”
Welcome to Accra Lions, Progress!
Accra Lions are hoping the additions to their squad can play a part to help them make a first impression upon their arrival in the top-flight.
