Former Ghana U20 star Adu Tutu Skelly is calling for a fresh face to lead Ghana football, insisting potential aspirant George Afriyie is not fit to lead the nation’s football governing body.
Adu-Tutu who was a member of the Black Satellites 1999 fearsome squad argues incumbent Kwesi Nyantakyi has exhausted all his football ideas and that a fresh face would be needed to steer the affairs of a ‘’declining’ Ghana Football.
Though vice President of the federation George Afriyie has been tipped as many football fans as potential candidate to succeed Nyanatakyi in 2019, Skelley thinks otherwise.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kumasi bases Abusua FM, the former King Faisal midfielder said ‘’Seriously I want to see Kwesi Nyantakyi out as FA boss because he has done a lot for Ghana Football but I would prefer Tonny Baffoe as the next FA boss at the expense of George Afriyie because he [Goerge Afriyie isn’t bold enough in dealing issues relating to football in the country’’.
He added ‘’If you are coward working under somebody and you cover up issues which you know isn’t good in your quest to develop the game in the country how then do you expect people to trust you that you can do the job when elected’’
‘’Personally I prefer Tonny Baffoe because he has been coordinating FIFA world Cup and he also knows the job because he has been there before so I think we should give him the chance’’
Tutu, 33, was the fans-favourite at the 1999 CAF African Youth Championship which was won on home soil.
His halcyon era was a period marked by the glorious days of Italian trainer Giuseppe Dossena who built a fine Ghana side through youth development and an eye for success.
Tutu’s second-half appearances for the Ghana U20 side at the Ghana 99 Youth Championship earned him the tag a super-sub.
However, despite his  precocious exploits at youth level, the former King Faisal star was unable to meet expectations at the senior level for Ghana as he faded out scene – being limited to Austrian.
