The Country’s finest golfers showed class on the golf course at the climax of the 2018 MTN Invitational tournament at the Tema Country Golf Club on Friday.
The Achimota golf course, Takoradi and the Celebrity golf course, have had their share of the fun but the Tema golf course produced excellent performances from the golfers .
Albert Agbo displayed an excellent performance on the course to win the men’s group A. He finished at a net score of 66 off handicap 14.
Godwin Asem came second with a net score of 69 off handicap 2 with Samuel Tetteh also delivering same net score but was separated on countback to place third.
The fourth place went to Peter Agbo who also came in with a net score of 70 boff handicap 3.
The Men’s group B saw Eric Ofosuhene cruising to victory with a net score of 64 off handicap 24. Felix A Boateng followed with a net score of 67 off handicap 24 to finish second while Seong Chill Kim carded a net score of 69 off handicap 18 for a third-place finish.
Floria Hurtubise also topped the ladies group A with a net score of 73 off handicap 13 to emerge the winner.
Good old Mona Captan Mylers-Lamptey followed closely with the net score of 73 off handicap 7 to finish second on countback .
The tournament offers diverse and intriguing opportunities for business networking in an atmosphere of friendliness for their highly valued subscribers.
It’s also aimed at developing the game of golf in Ghana.
The telecommunication giant delivered dazzling trophies and high-end entertainments to golfers who participated in the year-end event in Tema.
Meanwhile, Eric Ofosuhene similarly took charge of the Men Group B with a net score of 64 off handicap 24 to emerge the winner.
Felix A Boateng followed with a net score of 67 off handicap 24 to finish second while Seong Chill Kim carded a net score of 69 off handicap 18 for a third-place finish.
In the Ladies Group A, Lady Captain of the Ankobra Golf and Country Club in Bogoso, Floria Hurtubise held off the field to finish top at 73 off handicap 13.
The Ladies group B, also saw Vida Annang emerging as the winner with a net score of 73 off handicap 25 while Adelaide Owusu came second with a net score of 74 off handicap 19.
Joe Dadson showed power and resilience in the senior’s category to emerge as winner with a net score of 75 off handicap 19 with B.B.K Ayivor placing second with a net score of 77 off handicap 18.
John Udosen and Peter Dagle took home the Men closest to the pin accolade and the men longest drive with experienced Mona Captan Mylers-Lamptey winning that of the ladies.
Corporate Sales Executive of MTN, Sam Korankye acknowledged the substantial growth of the Invitational over the years and expressed MTN’s greatest appreciation to the golfers, and all stakeholders for being loyal partners to the Invitational and having made it a premier event on their calendar.
