FK Tirana offensive midfielder Winful Cobbinah has credited his hot form partly to the forced break of the 2019/20 Albania Superliga following the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus-19.
The former Hearts of Oak midfielder has scored seven goals and contributed two more assists this season with two of his goal tally coming after football resumed in the European country in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
His last two goals have been scored against Bylis on Round 27 and Luftetari Gjirokastra on Round 28.
“I think one reason that explains my good form is due to the break we had after the Coronavirus broke out. I spent enough time resting and training.” Cobbinah told Kumasi-based Fox FM on Monday morning.
FK Tirana – coached by Nigerian Emmanuel Ndubuisi Egbo- lead the league standings with 59 points after 28 games and the Ghanaian player ranks 11th on the list of most goals scorers in the 10-club competition.
