Football governing body, FIFA has banned Young Africans Sports Club in Tanzania for breaching FIFA regulation.
The Tanzania giants after a painful exit from the CAF Championship league by Mamelodi Sundowns have been dealt a further blow after breaching transfer regulation.
“The Young Africans club in the NBC Premier League has been banned from registering for violating the rules of International Football Federation (FIFA),” read a statement by the TFF.
“The decision has been made by FIFA after the club violated Annex 3 of the Regulation on the Transfer of Players (RSTP) of the Federation.
“Among other issues, Young Africans did not enter the transfer payment confirmation of the player concerned in the Registration System (TMS), despite being reminded to do so.
“The club has been required to implement the statutory requirements, and submit information to the Secretariat
“The FIFA Disciplinary Committee where the matter has been referred for further action.
“Due to FIFA’s decision, the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has also banned the club from registering local players.”
Young Africans are currently on top of the Kuu Bara topflight in Tanzania with 52 points. Augustine Okrah rejoined the Tanzanian topflight after a failed stint with Simba two years ago. The temporary ban will work in favour of the nimble Ghanaian winger by affording him enough playing time due to the inability of the club to augment their attacking options with new players.
