The Black Queens trainer concedes his side’s approach to the game against Zambia was poor.
The Black Queens saw their two goals lead cancelled by hat-trick hero Racheal Kundananji as they were defeated 3-2 by Zambia in the first of three international friendly matches.
The shocking defeat has since left Ghanaian concerned about the Queens team ahead of this month’s Women’s Nations Cup tournament which will be held in Ghana.
Bashiru Hayford has therefore attributed the defeat to the bad attitude from his side having arrived in Lusaka less than 24 hours to the game.
“We came about three days ago and we were at Zambia, the coming was in batches, some came others also came later, the following day we had to play a match,” he told the media on their arrival in Nairobi.
“The approach was very bad but at the same time it was a very good training session for us.
“It is again an eye opener for us to get the standard of the East Africa teams as well as the West African teams and so we are here for a training tour, we are coming to play Kenya and see the standard here too and then when we go back home we will make amends and see how we will approach the tournament,’’ He added.
Ghana will take on their Kenyan counterparts at the MISC Kasarani on Wednesday before returning to host South Africa in their final preparation match.
