Coach Yussif Basigi of the Black Princesses has urged his team to give their all in the upcoming second leg against Eswatini in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
Holding a substantial 6-1 lead from the first leg, Ghana is in a favorable position.
“We won’t relax, even with a 6-1 advantage,” emphasized Coach Yussif Basigi ahead of Sunday’s game. He stressed, “This is a continuation of our preparation, so we’re stepping up our game to gain insights into our last hurdle. We’re going all out for the return fixture.”
Basigi, focusing on the team’s approach, stated, “We are going to have fun, enjoy the game, and when the chances come, we will utilize them. We’ve worked on our finishing and sharpened our attack.”
Looking beyond the immediate match, Basigi views this game as a valuable opportunity for preparation ahead of the final round of qualifiers.
Expressing enthusiasm for women’s football, he encouraged Ghanaians, saying, “Women’s football is very interesting, and I think Ghanaians are enjoying women’s football, so they should come out and support the Black Princesses and have fun.”
The ultimate goal is securing a spot in the FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup set to take place in Colombia next year.
