Dear CAF, I greet you this afternoon from Ghana. Nothing is well this afternoon. We just heard you guys have finally decided to say enough is enough regarding Ghana’s inability to provide a standard venue for your competitions.
Let’s start from this angle! What about blaming yourself for letting more than 20 of your members be irresponsible for a very long time?
Ghana hosted the 2008 AFCON with world class venues. It’s just 16 years now and the country has failed to maintain any of the 4 venues they used for the tournament.
I blame you CAF for these problems because you have been very lenient with these countries.
Ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, you named 22 countries to playe their home games outside their respective countries because they don’t have your required stadias.
You should have just kicked them out and allowed only those who only are interested in doing football to participate.
You allowed them to also take part in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers and it’s very shameful from you.
We have now turned Morocco, Egypt and Tanzania into the Haven of African Football. Why don’t we them rest and enjoy their venues?
What’s the big deal about Ghana splashing cash to construct a wonderful edifice for football?
A country that has participated in 4 world cups cannot give any excuse for not providing a standard venue for FIFA and CAF Competitions.
Moldova, Armenia, San Marinho, Kosovo, Albania, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Estonia, Belarus, among many other European countries are minnows in football but have quality places for the game.
What’s Tanzania’s business in getting a proper football venue? They barely qualify for AFCON and will have to quadruple their effort before scuring a slot at the FIFA World Cup yet their Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium is beautiful and attractive.
To Rwanda’s Amahoro Stadium, the East African nation has appeared in just one major tournament in their entire history (AFCON 2004) but have spent huge cash to renovate the legendary venue to become a world standard.
What exactly is preventing Ghana to reach the level of their peers; Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Libya, South Africa and Libya in terms of facilities?
Ghana’s Neighbours Togo and Benin can boast of CAF standard venue.
Rivals Nigeria in Uyo has a wonderful stadium that even Ghanaians admire.
Hello CAF, make it a rule that if you don’t get yourself a Grade A venue, you don’t qualify to participate in any of my competitions, being men and women, youth and senior, club and country for the incompetent countries to learn sense.
It’s very shameful to watch your members disgrace you.
