Callum Hudson-Odoi has addressed the possibility of returning to the England national team after five years without an invite from the Three Lions.
The Nottingham Forest winger, who is also eligible to represent Ghana through his parents’ heritage, has been in impressive form this season, scoring crucial goals as Forest push for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Hudson-Odoi recently grabbed the headlines by scoring the winner in Forest’s shock victory over reigning champions Manchester City last Saturday.
With Thomas Tuchel now managing one of Europe’s top clubs, speculation has grown that the former Chelsea star, who previously played under the German coach at Stamford Bridge, could find himself back in the England setup.
During a post-match interview with TNT Sports, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand asked Hudson-Odoi about a potential England recall.
“I knew that question was coming,” he responded. “I think for me, I will take it game by game. No matter what decision happens—if I get picked or if I don’t—I just have to make sure I keep doing what I’m doing, stay consistent, and that will come. Just taking it game by game, and hopefully, you never know what happens.”
England are set to face Albania and Latvia in the upcoming March World Cup qualifiers, while Ghana will take on Chad and Madagascar as they continue their campaign.
