Ghanaian winger Christopher Bonsu Baah has made a high-profile move to Saudi Arabia, joining Al Qadsiah from Belgian side KRC Genk in a transfer reported to be worth over €15 million.
The 20-year-old has signed a four-year contract that will see him stay with the Saudi Pro League club until 2029. The deal was finalized in the Netherlands, where Bonsu Baah is expected to link up with his new teammates for their preseason preparations.
Although this transfer represents a major milestone in his young career, sources close to the player indicate that a return to European football remains a possibility in the future, with his long-term growth and development still a central focus.
Bonsu Baah’s journey has been one of the most inspiring success stories in Ghanaian football in recent years. After early trials with top European clubs such as Barcelona, Manchester United, and Borussia Dortmund, his professional breakthrough came in March 2023 when he joined Norwegian club Sarpsborg from Ghanaian lower-division side Shooting Stars.
It took just 12 appearances in Norway for the dynamic forward to attract the attention of clubs across Europe. Genk ultimately won the race for his signature, and over the course of two seasons, he made 90 appearances for the Belgian outfit, scoring five goals and delivering seven assists.
His rise continued on the international stage as well, making his senior debut for Ghana in recent friendlies against Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago—solidifying his growing role within the national team setup.
