Chairman of the club licensing board Emmanuel Dasoberi has urged club owners to invest in pitches to help develop the game in the country.
His comments follows the club licensing boards decision to review the pitches used for the league.Many Premier League clubs risk playing their home matches away from home due to the nature of their pitches as the Club Licensing Board is set to meet on Tuesday to review the pitches used for the league.
Many clubs have complained about the nature of some of the pitches including the Tamale Utrecht Park used by Bolga All Stars, the Wa Park used by Wa All Stars, the Berekum Golden City Park used by Berekum Chelsea, the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park and the Nana Agyemang Badu Park used by Bechem United and Aduana Stars respectively.
Ahead of the meeting,Emmanuel Dasoberi want club owners to make pitch development a matter of priority to help grow the game.
“The clubs are not investing a lot back into the game”
“With all due respect,football is huge business enterprise and we must look at it in that perspective”
“we are not able to grow our own pitches but we have the money to be celebrating
hundred years ,centenary anniversary and all that and we can not boast of anything”Dasoberi told Starr FM
“But in my personal view, i think that it is sad,we must grow up our game if players are playing on good pitches,it has an effect on all of us”he added.
