Information available to Asantekotokosc.com indicates that, Intervest, one of the parties involved in the Dauda Mohammed transfer saga have acknowledged receipt of a cheque for US$14,000 from Global Stars SC.
A letter from Global Stars dated August 1, 2017 and a copy of which is in the possession of Asantekotokosc.com, quoted Chairman of Intervest FC, Samuel Ofori, acting on behalf of Intervest Football Club admitting receipt of the cheque for US$14,000 “Being settlement of an onward transfer of Dauda Mohammed” from Kotoko to Belgian side, Anderlecht FC.
The letter further stated that, the amount was being paid on behalf of Kotoko to satisfy the decision of the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee. Another letter, dated August 1, 2017 and addressed to the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association and signed by Intervest Chairman, Samuel Ofori also said his club has received the aforementioned figure.
It noted that, the money was from Global Stars SC on behalf of Kotoko “to fulfill the decision of the Disciplinary Committee concerning the Dauda Mohammed’s transfer. The Disciplinary Committee, last Friday announced that Kotoko would be ducked points for disobeying its enforcement decision on the transfer of former player, Dauda Mohammed.
Management, in response, rejected the Committee’s decision arguing that, it didn’t have correct grounds to deduct Kotoko points. Head of Legal Affairs, Lawyer Yaw Boafo in a statement, explained that, Global Stars SC were to refund money paid by Kotoko so as to enable Kotoko pay others and once Kotoko hadn’t been paid by Global Stars, there wasn’t any basis for Kotoko to be punished.
Kotoko’s obligation was contingent on receipt of the money from Global Stars, argued Lawyer Boafo. Thus, with Global Stars paying what’s due Intervest FC on behalf of Kotoko, it remains to be seen the next line of action the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee would take.
