English-born Ghanaian defender Jordi Osei-Tutu was a standout performer, delivering a key assist in a commanding display.
Bolton opened the scoring in the 40th minute when Osei-Tutu whipped in an inch-perfect cross, finding Klaidi Lolos, who powered a header into the bottom corner. Huddersfield struggled to gain momentum, and the hosts maintained control of the match after the interval.
Aaron Collins extended Bolton’s lead in the 83rd minute, capitalizing on a precise setup by Dion Charles to poke the ball home from close range. Five minutes later, Collins struck again, finishing clinically into the bottom right corner to effectively seal the win for the Wanderers.
Huddersfield managed a late consolation in the 90th minute when Josh Dacres-Cogley inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net, leaving the final score at 3-1.
The victory narrows Huddersfield’s head-to-head edge to 6-4, with two draws. Bolton now turns their attention to a League One clash against Wigan Athletic on December 14.
