Mariano Barreto begins his tenure as head coach of Asante Kotoko on Saturday afternoon against Eleven Wonders in Techiman even though the Portuguese is not expected to sit in the dugout due to unsettled work permit issues.
Kotoko announced their starting formation against the Techiman side at 12:26 GMT but this is definitely a Mariano team having overseen their training session in the weeks leading up to Saturday’s encounter.
Barreto thus becomes the 3rd head coach appointment at the Porcupine Warriors this season following the departures of Maxwell Konadu and interim Abdulai Gazalle, Johnson Smith combination.
Kotoko are 4th with 27 points and a win or draw today takes them a step up on the league table.
The game kicks off 15 : 00 GMT.
