Ahead of Sunday’s cracker between Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League, former Hearts midfielder Eric Nyarko has entreated the players to go into the game with a positive mentality.
The pair are locked on top of the league standings after 30 games played with 56 points each but the Rainbow lads are ahead of the fierce rivals due to having superior goal difference.
Considering there are just four games to go until the end of the 2020/21 campaign, both teams are well-poised to fight for the maximum points at the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday, a game which could play a part in determining the winner of this year’s competition.
Nyarko, who was instrumental for Hearts in the 2003 CAF Confederation Cup triumph over Asante Kotoko says games against the Porcupine Warriors was always came with value during his time on the field.
“Kotoko versus Hearts games have the potential to heal the sick and also can also kill someone. So as a player, you have to have this in mind that you’re going all out to play to heal the sick. In this case you solely focus on the game and forget about everything else,” Nyarko told Peace FM in an interview.
The former midfield engine also advised the current squad to go into the game on Sunday with positive motive, which will make it ‘easy’ for them.
He added: “My advise to the players is that they should have it in mind that they are going out there to play to heal the sick. With such a mindset, it will be easy for them to win.”
A win for any of the sides will see them go three points clear at the top of the summit.
