Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC have extended the contract of striker Ibrahim Osman, SportsworldGhana.com can report.
The former Asokwa Deportivo SC striker have put pen to a new deal which will keep him at the club for the next two years and the deal will be announced by the club at 5pm this evening by the club.
Osman’s contract with the Porcupine Warriors was due this weekend and could have walked away to another club but he Red and Whites have decided to tie him down for another two years.
After joining Asante Kotoko from Division One League Zone Two team, Deportivo, the 21-year-old was loaned to Kumasi King Faisal FC for the 2019-20 season and was a constant hit at the club leading to his return to the club after the league was halted due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
This season, Osman started the season on a brighter note as he scored Kotoko’s only goal in their short campaign in the CAF Champions League competition when they drew one all in Mauritania against FC Noaudhibou.
The sharp shooter also scored the winner for his team against Legon Cities FC in the first round of the Ghana Premier League season before he picked up a horrible and troubling groin injury.
Osman was out for almost four months and has made only one appearance on the bench for Kotoko after his long injury lay-off in their 3-1 comeback win over Dreams FC in Obuasi at the Len Clay Stadium last Saturday.
Osman face competition from Vinicius Silva de Morais, Francis Andy Kumi and Diawisie Taylor for a place in the team on a regular basis and the club have shown confidence in him by offering him two years contract to remain at the Kumasi-based club.
