Ghanaian defender Godfred Asante was the hero of the day on Friday night as he scored the winner for Al Sharq against Al Nojoom in the Saudi Arabian third tier league.
Asante who was signed by Al Sharq as a free agent in the summer after leaving Guinean outfit AC Horoya powered home the winner on the stroke of half time at the Al Anwar Sports Stadium as his side recorded a hard fought win.
The Ghanaian guardsman was a pillar at the back for Al Sharq as he defended gallantly and occasionally moved forward to join the attack.
Al Sharq are now having four points from two games in the ongoing season.
