The dog can’t sleep in peace when its place has been taken over by noise and confusion. And when you withheld good from those that deserve it- it leaves hearts broken, trust forfeited and confidence lost. That is the Scenario between the Black Queens and the President of the Republic of Ghana – John Dramani Mahama.
It takes an ungrateful heart not to appreciate the fatherly care you shown when the ladies were left to their fate at the M-Plaza hotel couple of months ago. Though you were not here in your physical presence but your words brought some level of smiles to the gallant ladies.
It was a bizarre situation in your absence not even the sector minister was able to stamp his authority on the issue. However the promise you made to the Queens to settle their entitlement is yet to materialize and as we speak the ladies are confused on the path to take to get their money.
Mr. President, it will be unfair on our part to assume that you have forgotten the issue entirely like many promises have been swept under the carpet some time past. It will only be right to say that you have been overtaken by events. The power to give and not to give rest in your bosom and the Black Queens will forever be grateful to you if you keep to your words.
Ghanaians and the Queens for that matter appreciate the high economic difficulties that lies on your shoulders. You are faced with a lot of national pertinent issues that need quick attention however the Queens’ must be factored into this national agenda.
If this saying is correct “What is good for the gander is good for the goose”, then Mr. President, attention must be paid to the All Africa Games Gold winners- Black Queens. If Meteors could not make any incursion in the game are demanding entitlement, it suggest that the winners deserve more than the reported amount.
Mr. President, it about time the stereotype should change to suit the best. We have adore and submit our wills to the Black Stars for long time. The commitment towards women football must be of great concern to you and those you have delegate to steer your affairs. Ghana have spent so much on the Senior National team with nothing to show for. This is not the first appeal to be made, severally it has been put across but we yet to see it effect.
We are all privy to the sad stories that always crop up when there is national competition. The 2014 Brazil debacle is the heaviest of it all. The disgrace was too much to bear. We thought after the Justice Dzamefa Commission, Ghana Sports especially football will see a new face but the same events keeps repeating itself competition after competition.
Mr. President, you are fully aware of the challenges the Queens had to endure after the tournament. The story wasn’t too good for your administration. The time for critical examination in every aspect of the game is now. People are hiding under selfishness to pull down your effort. The happenings in Sports in Ghana under your watch is too much.
After from the Queens entitlement which you promised to sort it out, the deficiencies in the running of the designated sectors must also see revamp. This is not to coach you on your duties, Mr. President but our beloved sports are dwindling as the years roll by.
Since 2001, the Sports Ministry has never seen peace, it has always been devilled with wrongs and perpetual mistakes of which your administration is a culprit. Until the sector step up their effort, Ghana Sports is not far from dead.The prayer of the Ghanaian is to wake up one day and see Sports flourishing and rubbing shoulders with the rest of the world.
Ghana has come a long way not to be ridiculed by the world, we must fight with common course to defeat mediocrity and set a new benchmark that will define the strength Ghana Sports.
Mr. President, you are not alone in this pursuit, we are solidly behind you but the initiative must start from the top, that way the ordinary Ghanaian will see the reason to rally behind. We must perish pessimism and create a good inch for Ghana Sports.
