HOOLIGANS ran amok as the international friendly between Tunisia and Egypt descended into a brutal brawl.
Inside the Cairo International stadium, Egypt supporters clashed – armed with seats – with rivals and secret plain-clothes police officers.

The stadium has been under renovation since the Port Said disaster in 2012 with security measures being implemented to meet the demands of the prosecutor and interior ministry regarding safety in the stands.
The stadium had been ready for more than a year but security officials had not allowed any high-profile games until Sunday, fearing civil unrest in the capital.
Before the game, Egypt’s Football Association executive manager Tharwat Swelam said: “Security officials have given the green light to host Tunisia’s friendly at Cairo International Stadium with an attendance of 5,000 fans.”
After the game, Egypt coach Osama Nabih said: “We are only playing one friendly game in preparation for the African Cup of Nations and Tunisia is one of the strongest teams in the continent.

“The victory boosts our confidence before heading to Gabon; we played a great game and managed to snatch the win at the end.”
“The victory is important even though it is just a friendly game.
“Our main problem was that we only made six substitutions and we could not watch all players, but we are always ready to represent Egypt in any tournament it participates in.”
The two sons of former Egypt president Hosni Mubarak, Alaa and Gamal Mubarak, were in attendance with scores of Egypt fans surrounding them for pictures and autographs.
On 1 February 2012 a massive riot occurred at Port Said Stadium after an Egyptian Premier League match between El Masry and El Ahly.
74 people were killed and more than 500 were injured after thousands of El Masry thugs stormed the stands and attacked El Ahly with knives, swords, clubs, stones, bottles, and fireworks.
