And turning 20 next season he could be ready for the West Ham first team at the perfect time, potentially saving David Moyes millions in the transfer market this summer, according to former West Ham academy chief Terry Westley.
West Ham desperately need at least one defensive-minded central midfielder in the next window. The Hammers shocking lack of back-up in central midfield has not been exposed this season.
Moyes has been extremely fortunate that both Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek have been ever-presents all season.
Beyond those two West Ham have a worrying lack of alternatives.
But according to a report from The Athletic, Appiah-Forson is ‘loved’ by players and staff at West Ham.
He turns 20 in October and former West Ham academy chief Terry Westley has likened him to N’Golo Kante.
The player who was last month given the chance by David Moyes to train with the first team himself, is determined to realise his dream of making the West Ham first team.
And The Athletic reports that his teammates and staff at West Ham believe it is only a matter of time.

“He does so much work, the team wouldn’t be the same without him,” Appiah-Forson’s teammate Kai Corbett recently told the West Ham match-day programme.
“Other up-and-coming prospects such as Dan Chesters, Jamal Baptiste and Bernardo Rosa also firmly believe Appiah-Forson is a talent that deserves more recognition,” says the Athletic.
