Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito is determined to guide his side back to winning ways as they prepare to face Dreams FC on Sunday.
The coach has been candid about the team’s recent struggles, emphasizing the importance of ending the first round of the Ghana Premier League on a high. Kotoko have gone four games without a win, and Zito believes now is the time to reverse the trend.
Facing his former club adds an interesting layer to the fixture, but Zito insists the objective is straightforward: secure a victory and restore confidence in the squad.
“They know me, I know them. They know how I work and I know how they work. But for now, it’s my boy who has taken over. So, it will be a nice game because we know each other. But they’re coming here, and we still stick to our objective of winning the game. This is how I will take it,” he told Asante Kotoko TV.
He continued, “We are going in to win because the last four matches of the first round must be ended properly. If we want to make any meaningful impact, let’s be honest with ourselves: we have to start winning now. Going four games without a win is very bad for the club.”
The Porcupine Warriors will host Dreams FC at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, December 14, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 pm.
