Reports reveal that French midfielder Paul Pogba (30) faces a four-year ban from football following a doping violation earlier this season.
The ban stems from Pogba testing positive for testosterone, a performance-enhancing hormone, after Juventus’ match against Udinese in August.
Pogba’s doping offense was confirmed through a subsequent counter-analysis conducted on a second sample in October. Despite his legal team’s claims of accidental ingestion and rejection of a plea deal for a reduced sentence, the prosecution remained steadfast.
While Juventus refrained from official comment, sources confirmed the club’s awareness of the four-year ban and indicated they would evaluate the next course of action.
Under contract with Juventus, Pogba faces exclusion from the sport until 2028, when he will be 34 years old. His second stint with the Italian club has been marred by injuries since departing Manchester United in 2022 on a free transfer.
Last season, the 2018 World Cup winner grappled with knee and hamstring issues, along with knee surgery, which sidelined him from representing France at the Qatar World Cup.
