President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has extended heartfelt congratulations to all 18 Premier League clubs for their efforts in delivering a successful and memorable 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign.
In a press release issued on Monday, the GFA President praised the collective resilience, passion, and growth of the domestic game, highlighting the emergence of young talents, thrilling matchdays, and the unwavering support from fans across the country as signs of Ghana football’s continued revival.
“This season has once again proven the resilience, passion, and growth of our domestic game. From electrifying matchdays to the rise of young stars and the unrelenting fan support, we have collectively shown that Ghana football is on a resolute path of revival and excellence,” the statement read.
Okraku reserved special praise for Bibiani Gold Stars, who clinched their first-ever league title, calling it a well-deserved triumph and a landmark moment for the club. He also encouraged clubs that fell short to take pride in their journeys and return stronger next season.
The GFA President acknowledged the vital contributions of key stakeholders behind the scenes — including referees, club administrators, medical teams, groundsmen, volunteers, and media partners — for their tireless efforts throughout the campaign.
“You are the backbone of our football ecosystem, and your dedication ensured the success of this season.”
He also paid tribute to the fans, calling them the “soul of Ghana football,” and credited their unwavering passion as the driving force behind the league’s spirit.
However, Okraku used the moment to reflect on some unfortunate incidents at certain venues during the season, stressing the need to continue building a safer and more respectful football culture.
“These regrettable moments serve as reminders of the work ahead in shaping a more secure, inclusive environment for all. The GFA remains committed to intensifying education at the club level and improving matchday protocols.”
Looking ahead to the 2025/26 season, Okraku reiterated the GFA’s commitment to strengthening the foundations of Ghana football and working collaboratively with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
“Together, we will rise, improve, and showcase the true greatness of our beloved sport.”
He concluded by thanking all involved for their contributions to the success of the 2024/25 campaign.
