The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that Nsoatreman FC has officially withdrawn from the ongoing Ghana Premier League, citing security concerns for their players.
In a letter signed by the club’s president and received via the club’s official email on March 14, 2025, Nsoatreman FC stated that their decision was driven by safety fears following recent matches against Asante Kotoko SC and FC Samartex 1996. The club emphasized that they could no longer guarantee the security of their players, prompting management and the board to withdraw from the competition.
The GFA had engaged the club multiple times in discussions regarding the situation, but no resolution was reached. As a result, the Football Association has activated the relevant provisions of the competition regulations and referred the matter to the GFA Prosecutor for disciplinary action. The process will proceed in accordance with the league’s regulations, specifically Article 13(5).
According to Article 13(5) of the GFA regulations, when a club withdraws from the league after the season has started, all its scheduled matches are considered forfeited, with three points and three goals awarded to the opposing team.
Moving forward, every club scheduled to play against Nsoatreman FC will automatically be awarded three points and three goals in accordance with the league regulations.
