Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, managed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), have taken to their official Twitter account to congratulate their captain, Andre Ayew, on reaching a century of appearances in the prestigious English Premier League.
The Black Stars Twitter account posted a photo of Ayew proudly holding a plaque presented to him by the Premier League. The caption expressed their immense congratulations to Ayew on his 100th Premier League appearance.
It further highlighted that Ayew’s journey in the league began on August 8, 2015, with Swansea City against Chelsea FC, followed by spells at West Ham United and currently Nottingham Forest. The Black Stars expressed their pride in Ayew’s achievement.
At 34 years old, Ayew surpassed the milestone of 100 appearances in the Premier League while representing Nottingham Forest in a match against Brentford in late April.
Throughout his career in the English top flight, Ayew has played for three different clubs, including Swansea City, West Ham United, and his current team, Nottingham Forest. He has made significant contributions with 21 goals and 9 assists in the Premier League, proving his impact in numerous matches.
Ayew initially joined Swansea City in 2015 and later moved to West Ham United. After a stint with Al Sadd in Qatar, he returned to the Premier League in January 2023, signing a short-term contract with Nottingham Forest.
The Premier League acknowledged Ayew’s remarkable achievement by presenting him with a plaque, symbolizing his accomplishment of reaching 100 appearances in one of the most fiercely competitive football leagues in the world.
