Ghana Premier League: Inter Allies vs Hearts : Preview and Statistics

Accra Hearts of Oak will look for a first win of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) campaign when they play as guests of International Allies in a capital.

Kick-off for this one is at 6:00 PM and, it will be our second game of the season after last Tuesday’s 2-2 draw encounter with AshantiGold SC in Accra. We have an outstanding league fixture with Aduana Stars to be played at a later at Dormaa Ahenkro.

In the game with the Miners in midweek, Hearts took the lead twice but failed to hold on unto it as the points were shared. Coach Edward Odoom took responsibility for that and the gaffer has promised an improved output especially in defence as we look for the points in Sunday’s game.

Coach Odoom will have a full house to choose from and, he could include Abednego Tetteh who missed our encounter with AshGold for health reseasons. The striker has trained well all week and is in line to make his competitive debut for the Phobians.

Also available for selection is defender Robert Addo Sowah who missed the last game due to injury. Coach Odoom is expected to name a strong starting IX for this fixture against a side that would be inspired to perform as they play their third game of the campaign.

In their two previous encounters, they drew at home to Dreams FC and lost away at Aiyinase to Katrela United FC. They will therefore look for a first win when they host the Phobians on Sunday.

In this fixture last season, the spoils were shared as Hearts came from behind to earn a point in a 1-1 draw game. The Phobians will look to go a step better this time with a win and, it will not come without a fight from the hosts derby at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening.
