Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge has confirmed the termination of Kamal Sowah’s contract, making the Ghanaian attacking midfielder a free agent and open to negotiations with potential suitors.
The 25-year-old struggled for playing time this season and did not feature in the first half of the campaign. On Thursday, Club Brugge announced the mutual agreement to part ways with Sowah, stating: “Kamal Sowah and Club Brugge have agreed to terminate their contract by mutual consent today.”
Sowah joined Club Brugge in 2021 from English Premier League side Leicester City after impressing during a loan spell at Belgian outfit OH Leuven. The Right to Dream Academy graduate achieved notable success with Brugge, winning the Jupiler Pro League in the 2021-22 season and the Belgian Super Cup in 2022.
During the 2023-24 season, Sowah went on loan to Standard Liège, where he scored two goals. He also had a brief loan spell at Dutch club AZ Alkmaar in the 2021-22 season, making eight appearances. In total, Sowah featured in 53 matches for Club Brugge across all competitions, recording two goals and five assists.
The one-time capped Ghana international is now set to explore new opportunities as he seeks to revive his career.
