The young Rams looked set for a quarter-final place at half-time when Tyree Wilson’s penalty had them 1-0 to the good.
But two goals in less than two second-half minutes from Taylor Harwood and Jeremie Frimong secured a 2-1 victory and sent City through into the last eight of the competition.
