Forge FC‘s Canadian-born Ghanaian striker Kwasi Poku stole the show as he scored two impressive goals to help his team secure a 2-1 win against Pacific FC in the Canadian Premier League on Sunday.
The match, held at Tim Hortons Field, saw Poku play a full game and shine for the home team.
Despite Pacific FC starting the game strongly and taking the lead through Ayman Sellouf’s penalty in the 33rd minute, Forge FC responded quickly after the break with Poku scoring his first goal in the 47th minute. Tristan Borges provided the assist with a cross, and Poku finished with a right-footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner.
Poku then sealed the win for Forge FC with his second goal in the 85th minute, scoring with a left-footed shot from very close range to the top right corner, following a corner.
The 21-year-old striker has been in impressive form this season, having played 13 games, scored six goals, and provided two assists in the 2024 Canadian Premier League.
With this win, Forge FC maintain their strong record against Pacific FC, boasting a 12-4 head-to-head advantage.
