English Premier League side, AFC Bournemouth has officially confirmed the signing of Ghanaian teenager Daniel Adu-Adjei on a long-term contract.
The 18-year-old’s impressive performance, which saw him score 25 goals for the Cherries’ development side during the 2023/24 season, sealed the deal.
In a statement released by the club, they expressed their delight at securing Adu-Adjei’s services for the foreseeable future.
The young striker, born in England to Ghanaian parents, expressed his happiness and gratitude, thanking his family, coaches, and the club for their support in reaching this milestone.
“I am really happy,” Adu-Adjei stated on the club’s official website. “I would like to thank God, my family, all the coaches for helping me to get to this stage. I am happy to score the number of goals I did. I think it’s probably the best goalscoring season I’ve had since I’ve been here. It was also really nice to cap it off with being named academy player of the year, as well as my first EFL goal.”
He continued, expressing his eagerness to repay the trust shown by the club and his determination to continue improving in the upcoming season.
Born and raised in England, Adu-Adjei remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level, adding another dimension to his promising career.
