Ghana’s midfielder Majeed Ashimeru was in action for Belgium Jupiler Pro League powerhouse, RSC Anderlecht on Friday evening in a pre-season friendly match against Dutch Eredivisie giant AFC Ajax Amsterdam.
The former West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC graduate was at the heart of the midfield of Anderlecht as they seccumbed to a 2-0 defeat in front of their home fans.

The Mauves and Whites conceded in both halves to goals from former Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham United striker Sebastian Haller on the 9th and 55th minutes respectively.
After starting in the last pre-season game for his team, Ashimeru is expected to play a bigger role in the Belgium Pro League this campaign after his permanent move to the club from Austrian side, RB Salzburg.
Ashimeru and his team begins their Pro League season at home to newly promoted team Union St. Gilloise next Sunday at the Lotto Park in Brüssel.
