The Ghana Premier League Match Week four kicked off at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope where The West African Football Academy (WAFA) played as host to league leaders Aduana Stars.
In the end, neither side picked all three point as WAFA rallied back in the second half to ensure that, their impressive home record stayed intact.
The game started in an impressive manner with both sides showing glimpses of their brilliance especially in the middle of the field with some of the country’s best talents on display.
Gideon Waja, Majeed Ashimeru and Caleb Amankwah were all in great form for the home side while their ex team mate Zakaria Mumuni pulled the strings for Aduana along with midfield partner Noah Martey.
But despite WAFA slightly ahead in terms of possession, it was Aduana who took the lead on 29 minutes through forward Sam Adams.
The youngster picked up a lose ball just outside the center circle and went on a menacing run at the Defence of the home side, putting the ball beyond Razak Abelora in goal for WAFA.
The home side pressed for the equalizer but Aduana Stars defended well to ensure that the first half ended 1-0.
WAFA came out pressing at the start of the second half and their early pressure paid off just four minutes after the restart.
Richmond Lamptey, after receiving a fine pass from midfield mystro Majeed Ashimeru, managed to put the ball past Veteran keeper Stephen Adams to draw the home side level.
That goal eventually proved be the only goal conceded by Aduana Stars so far in the season and the game ended one apiece.
